Hazel (Henry) Rhoads, the daughter of Elmer Clarence and Mary Alice Ulsh Henry, was born March 22, 1897, in Jewell County, Kansas. She departed this life on Friday, February 20, 1987, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years.

On December 5, 1917, she was married to James A. Rhoads at Belleville, Kansas. Four daughters were born to this union.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband James; infant daughter Bernice; sister Nina Train; and three brothers, Clair, Ernest and Hubert.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Axel (Norma) Zoltenko of Hardy, Nebraska, Mary Gebers of Englewood, Colorado, and Mrs. Robert (Lois) Winterbottom of Seal Beach, California; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and her many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 1987, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Nebraska. The Rev. Kenneth Fairbrother was the officiant. Interment was in the Rosemound (sic) Cemetery, Republic County, Kansas. Williams Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
