He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae Blair.
He retired in 1980 from MCI as a correctional officer after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Hagerstown First Church of God, the VFW of Hagerstown and the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring.
He is survived by a very special friend, Daris Higgins of Greencastle, Pa.; one son, William E. (Bill) Blair and wife, Brenda, of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Blair Combs and husband, Vincent, of Orlando, Fla., and Edith Blair Sword and husband, Charles, of Clear Spring, Md.; two brothers, Frederick Blair, and Robert Blair and wife, Dottie, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Blair Reiff, and three brothers, Richard Blair, Rollin Blair and Ray Blair.
Services were held at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Clear Spring; burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
