Jacob B. Swartz, after a brief illness, died at his home in this borough, early Wednesday morning of last week. About a week before his death he was attacked with a bilious complaint, which brought on hiccoughing. The hiccoughs continued until he became so weak that death resulted from collapse. Mr. Swartz was a stout, robust young man, the very picture of health and strength; a man of generous impulses, warm hearted and good natured. He was unmarried and supported his widowed mother and sisters. He had a wide circle of friends, who join with the grief-stricken family in sincere sorrow for this "most untimely taking off." His remains were interred in the Bloomfield cemetery on Friday. The funeral was largely attended.
