Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Ernestine Broussard, age 82, the former Ernestine Comeaux, who passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:15 a.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Deacon Gary Gaudin of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Broussard was a native of Carencro and resided in Lafayette, Scott and Duson. She was employed with Charity Hospital in Lafayette for over twenty years. Mrs. Broussard was a member of the St. Anne Society at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro.

Survivors include one son, Paul Broussard of Lafayette; three daughters, Linda Gaudin and her husband, Deacon Gary, of Eunice, Elizabeth Sonnier and her husband, Charles, of Duson and Charlene Mouton of Sparks, NV; four grandchildren, Kelly Hebert, Kristen Sonnier, Kirk Sonnier and David Broussard; five great grandchildren, Brittany Duplantis, Alex Geerts, Austin Hebert, Harley and Dakota Daw; three brothers, Whitney Comeaux of Arnaudville, Albert Comeaux of Cankton and Clayton Comeaux of Raceland; and one sister, Delores Folse of Raceland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jules D. Broussard; her parents, Joseph Comeaux and the former Cecile Trahan; three brothers, Daly Comeaux, Caliste Comeaux and Euby Comeaux; and three sisters, Beulah Stelly, Anna Quebedeaux and Della Cormier.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Sonnier, David Broussard, Glenn Folse, Keevin Comeaux, Jason Stelly and Ronald Mouton. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Sonnier, Austin Hebert, Alex Geerts and Dakota Daw.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
