Born May 1, 1926 in Bedford Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late William A. Borror and Bernice E. (Crites) Borror. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Wariner, Russell George, and Charles R. Abe; one son, Robert Lee Wariner, Sr.; two sisters, Ruth E. Kifer and Hazel M. White; a brother, Kelly A. Borror; and three step-brothers, Cletus, Curtis, and Paul Borror.
Mrs. Abe had worked as a Nursing Assistant and the Frostburg Miners' Hospital and Memorial Hospital. She attended Tri-State Ministry Center. Hilda was an avid bowler and she was an amazing gardener. She loved working in the yard with her flowers. She was well known for her BIG heart and her willing to help anyone at anytime. Her son and grandchildren were her world. She adored each and everyone of them dearly. She LOVED our heavenly father with all her heart and she could not wait to meet him. Without a doubt her family knows that she is now dancing and singing in heaven with no more sorrow and no more pain. She will forever live in our hearts!! Until we meet again Grandma, know that we love you!!!!
Survivors include her step-daughters, Carletta Walsh, Potomac Park, and Rebecca Abe, Boynton Beach, FL; a step-son, Troy Abe, Cumberland; two sisters, Betty J. Brobeck and Opal V. Wolf , both of York, PA; three brothers, Earl M. Borror, York, PA, Harold V. Borror, Pittsburgh, PA, and Brenton D. Borror, York, PA; five grandchildren, Janet Jeffries, Robert Lee Wariner, Jr., Sheila R. Bridges,and husband Jeff, Linda Wariner Guaman,and husband Jose, and Karl Hartig, Jr.; 13 great, grandchildren, 4 great, great, grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 PM in the funeral home, with Pastor Stevie Leydig, officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
