Death of Mrs. Levi Swarts.
Mrs. Levi Swarts died at her home in Springwater Saturday, Aug. 10th, at 10 a. m. after a long illness. Mrs. Swarts was a daughter of the late Jacob Snyder and was born in the town Of Groveland near what is now Grovelaud Station, Sept. 20, 1825. At the ago of twelve years she removed with her parents to Pennsylvania where she remained until grown to women-hood. In 1846 she returned to Livingston county making her home with a married sister until her marriage to Levi Swarts in 1857, when she removed with him to the farm in Springwater where she died. By nature kind and sympathetic, Mrs. Swarts won the love and respect of all, and although for many years a sufferer from an incurable form of cancer, yet her sufferings were ever borne without complaint and with a firm trust in God. She leaves two children, Jacob 0. Swarts of Springwater and Mrs. W. H. Sterner of Sparta to mourn the loss of Gods best earthly gift, a tender loving mother. Monday, Aug. 12th, at Carney Hollow, Rev. Wm. Thomson officiating and she was laid to rest by the side of her husband and infant son in the cemetery at the Kiehle church.
Gone where the loved are waiting,
Gone where the loved ones dwell.
Where pain and death cannot enter,
And never the word "farewell".
Gone where we soon shall follow,
In the path we all most tread.
For the way to heaven lies only,
Through the valley of the dead.
Resting in blissful slumber,
With never a sigh or moan.
Gone to swell the blessed number,
Of saints around the throne.
