Lovatus A. Bulter (Lovatus Allen Butler) was born in July 2, 1902, son of Fred and Martha Butler of Milan. The Butler farm was on Mooreville Road. He married Eunice Rehberg of Maybee in 1928 probably. His younger sister Alice was a flower girl at the wedding. He was the postmaster in Milan as early as 1942 and retired in about 1952. Lovatus bought out out his brother Jack so he could sell lunch meat at the Little Store on Dexter at Ideal. Lovatus died in 1984 and is buried in Marble Park cemetery. The 1930 Census in York Township says Martha M. Butler, 50, was born in Germany as well as both her parents. She was 19 when she married. Fred A. Butler was 57, he was 26 when he married. He was born in Mich., his mother born in NJ.
