Lovatus Allen (Bud) Butler, 79, of West Main Street, died March 31 in his home. Born July 2, 1902, in Milan, he was the son of Fred R. and Martha (Redlin) Butler. He married Eunice F. Rehberg Aug. 16, 1929 in Maybee. Mr. Butler served as Milan postmaster from 1947 to 1957. He was then owner of Butler's Grocery until his retirement in 1967. He had been a member of Peoples Presbyterian Church since 1914 and was a life member of Milan Lodge 335, Free and Accepted Masons. Surviving are his wife; a son, a daughter, a brother, two sisters, seven grandchildren; a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn, in 1974. Funeral services were held April 3 in Peoples Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Vern Campbell officiating. burial was in Marble Park Cemetery.
