In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy P. Carson in 1989; two children, Doris Evelyn Burnside and John W. Carson; two siblings, Lulu Bell Moore and Stephen Hyde.
Surviving are two children, Leona Ball and husband Danny of Philippi, Rev. Frank Carson and wife Susan of Sedalia; six grandchildren. Michela (David) Pauley, Heather (RIch) Leitch, Beckey (Mike) Cain, Andrew Ball, Benjamin Ball, and Shannon Bridge; six great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Phillip, Ryan, Regan, Chris and Shaylyn; six siblings, Maxidean "Mac" Greathouse, Salem, Ann Hyde, West Union, Deloris "Dottie" Gaskins, Big Flint, John Hyde and Debbie, Elkton, KY., and William "Bill" Hyde, West Union and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorena was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, canning, cooking and working word search puzzels. She also spent much of her time reading her Bible and Guidepost magazine.
Visitation was at the Greathouse funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. where the funeral was held at 12 Noon, Monday, July 16, 2012 with Rev. Max (Sonny) Palmer presiding. Interment followed at Center Point Christian Church Cemetery.
