Marguerite C. Crombie

COLUMBUS — Marguerite C. Crombie, 76, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1931 in Columbus, to Sylvester and Anna (Doherty) Slattery. Upon graduating from Rio High School in 1949, Marguerite went to work at the Borden milk plant in Columbus. She was married to John Crombie on May 22, 1954, in Doylestown. Marguerite was employed at Pick N' Save in Columbus for 20 years where she worked in the delicatessen. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus. Marguerite devoted her time to her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John "Jack" Crombie, Columbus; four sons, Patrick (Darlene), James (Darlene), Brian (Mary), all of Columbus, and Philip (Jennifer), Beaver Dam; four daughters, Maureen (Larry Ramirez) Crombie and Ann (Chris) Loebel, both of Sun Prairie; Susan (Patrick) Pokey, Columbus, and Mary (John) Breunig, Dane; 18 grandchildren, John, Joseph, Jacob, Kelly, Crystal, Kevin, Kyle, Casey, Christopher, Michael (Courtney), Daniel, Megan Crombie, Keelan and Ian Dedolph, Lauren, Clark Crombie, Adam and Allison Breunig; two brothers, Donald (Genevieve) Slattery, Doylestown, and James (Rosemary Kehoe) Slattery, Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Marian Devincenzi, California; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Sylvester Tiedt.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the church with a Rosary service at 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, at the church.

Jones-Jensen Funeral & Cremation of Columbus is serving the family.
