Early Life: Cindy was born November 19, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leland and Ivy Rytting, the second of four children. She moved to Alaska as a teenager.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Cindy married C.E. Swackhammer who preceded her in death on October 11, 1994. She moved back to Salt Lake City in 1995 and later married Robert C. Bowen on September 23, 2000. Cindy was very active in the LDS Church where she served as a ward Relief Society President, in ward and stake Young Women organizations, as a stake and ward activities coordinator, and she was a temple patron at the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She enjoyed all of her church service opportunities and most recently loved serving as a nursery leader. Cindy was passionate about life. She loved her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Cindy loved to dance, travel and she was a great cook. She was an avid reader and gardener. She has made many happy memories with family and friends and will be truly missed. Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Cynthia "Cindy" Rytting Swackhammer Bowen, passed away suddenly of complications from pneumonia on January 10, 2014. She was 67 years old.
