Services for Dorothy A. Nelson, 79, 1046 S. Main, who died Tuesday at
the home of her son, Ted Nelson, Ottawa RFD 4, will be at 2 p.m., Friday
at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. William R. Weber and Rev.
Loren Mohler officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson was born Sept 4, 1893, near Baldwin, the daughter of Herman
W. and Augusta (Hackstein) Pohl. She attended Douglas County, Kan.,
schools and Emporia State, graduating from the business department of
North Central College of Naperville, Ill. She taught school several
years in Douglas County before her retirement.

On March 26, 1919, she was married to Rev. G.B. Nelson at her home
southwest of Baldwin. He died March 7, 1967. The couple lived on a
farm near Centropolis until Rev. Nelson served as a minister in several
eastern Kansas communities.

Mrs. Nelson participated in summer Bible Camps for Youth more than 25
years and served on school boards and election boards in the various
communities where she lived. She was affiliated with the General
Association of Regular Baptist Churches and had been a resident of
Ottawa since 1961.

Surviving, in addition to her son, are three daughters, Mrs. Maxine E.
Stephens, 421 Maple; Mrs. Wilma I. Springer, Springdale, Ark., and
Dorothy Ann Nelson, Flint, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Chester Gibson, 534 S.
Oak; 10 Grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening until time of the
