When George Albert Kirby I was born on August 6, 1895, in Lonaconing, Maryland, his father, John Randolph Kirby Sr. (1863-1907) was 32 and his mother, Hannah Susan Arbogast (1863-1937), was 32.

He married Anna Eileen Lewis (1897-1972), the daughter of Josua Lewis (1876-1920) and Catherine Anelima Wolfe (1881-1951), on August 3, 1917 at Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland.

They had seven children:

George A. Kirby

George Albert Kirby Sr., 57, died last night at his home, 112 Oak Street.

Mr. Kirby, a resident of Cumberland for 41 years, was born August 6, 1895, at Eckhart, a son of the late Randolph and Hannah (Arbogast) Kirby.

He had been employed as a blacksmith in the east yard of the B&O Railroad for the past 43 years. He was a member of the Blacksmith Local, the Grace Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class of that church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs.

The body will be taken to the residence this evening.

Services for George Albert Kirby Sr., 57, who died Tuesday at his home, 112 Oak-Street, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. at the residence, with Rev. A. B. L. Fisher, pastor of Grace Methodist Church officiating, assisted by Major Elmer Wal, commandant of the Salvation Army. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The body will remain at the residence.
