Born February 12, 1933 in Glen Richey, he was the son of J. Orvis and Velma A. (Peoples) Haney.
He retired from Kurtz Brothers in Clearfield after 32 years of service. He had also worked for PCN Foods, Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging and as a Ticket Officer for the Clearfield Boro.
He was a member of the former Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and after that had attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. He was a member of the Graphic Communications Union Local #493.
He is survived by his wife Margaret C. (Stonebraker) Haney whom he married August 1, 1952, four children: Terry E. Haney and his wife Sally M. of Woodland, Larry L. Haney and his wife Alba of Austin, TX, Bernie O. Haney, Jr. and his wife Christa of Woodland and Linda D. Woodling and her husband Ronald of Woodland. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 2 great grand children and 2 brothers: Donald L. Haney and his wife Janet of Clearfield and Wendell D. Haney and his wife Jo Ann of Meadville, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son James C. Haney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Dr. Duane White officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of services.
