Funeral services for Gertrude E. Hines, 82, rural Lizton, were held at 2 p.m. today at the Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown, with burial in Lizton K of P Cemetery.
Hines died of natural causes Saturday at the Brownsburg Healthcare Center.
She was born July 8, 1909, in Lizton. Her parents were Arthur and Mary May Baker. She married Walter Hines on Aug. 22, 1936. He survives. The couple farmed in Hendricks County's Eel River township for 55 years.
A 1927 graduate of Lizton High School, Hines was a member of the Indiana Mental Health Association and the Lizton Christian Church. She attended Central Normal College and Butler University.
Other survivors include sons, Edward, Plainfield, and Richard Hines, Brownsburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
