Albert Sidney Higgins is of English, Irish, and Dutch descent. He was born December 30, 1881, near Dexter, Texas. He was born, raised, attended school, was baptized, and now teaches and preaches in the same school district his parents settled in when they came from Tennessee. He attended school till he was 19, when he obtained a First Grade Certificate and began teaching. He attended Southwestern Christian College, and from that institution received the degree of Licentiate Instructor. He was baptized by E. S. Elkins July 28, 1901. October 3, 1907, he was married to Miss Salla Jackson, who is now a devoted Christian! --Gospel Preachers Who Blazed the Trail , C. R. Nichol, 1911.
