Earnestine Sitton of Lubbock, formerly of Idalou, departed this life on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the age of 91. She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Hopkins County, Texas, to the late Virgil and Jessie (Etier) Pharr. She married John Frank Sitton in Bryan, Texas, on Nov. 25, 1943. The couple moved from Hart, Texas, to Idalou in 1957, where she worked for the Idalou Independent School District as a teacher's aide until she retired. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Idalou and enjoyed playing dominoes.

Her memory will be cherished by two daughters, Alice Summers of Lubbock and Joyce Graves of Boise, Idaho; three sons, Don of Lamesa, Lon of Big Spring and Jon of Sugar Land; sister, Jo Dell Stallings of Claremore, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Earnestine was preceded in death by her husband; five sisters; and three brothers.
