Pre-deceasing him was a little sister, Elizabeth, who died at the age of three and a brother James who died in the flu epidemic of 1918. In addition to his parents he was survived by brothers, Philip, George, and Fred and sisters Leah, Mary, and Helen.
Johnnie was buried at Washburn St. Cemetery in Scranton PA where his parents, sister Elizabeth, and brothers George, Fred, and Jimmy are also interred.
