REEDSVILLE MAN DROPS DEAD ON PORCH

John Donovan, 62, a Victim of Heart Attack

No Inquest Held; Was Old Resident

John Donovan, a well known resident of Reedsville, dropped dead on the porch at his home in that village at 6 o'clock last night, death being due to a sudden attack of heart failure. Mr. Donovan was 62 years of age.

Mr. Donovan had returned to his home and was about to enter the house from the porch when he was seen to stagger, throw up his hands and fall to the floor.

His sister, Miss Kate Donovan, who made her home with the dead man, summoned aid and the stricken man was removed to the house. Dr. Cary, who was called, found the man dead and pronounced the case one of heart failure.

The report of the death was made to Coroner Falge and District Attorney Healy but after the facts had been stated it was decided that no inquest was necessary.

Mr. Donovan will be buried at Reedsville.

Mr. Donovan was 62 years of age and had resided at Reedsville for a long term of years. He was unmarried and is survived by his sister, Miss Kate, of Reedsville, and one brother, Dan, of Waukesha, Wis.

John Donovan, who died just after he returned from a walk up town, was buried Monday from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. Kolar officiating. Mr. Donovan had been in ill health for some time but it was not thought his sickness was serious. Thursday evening he was taken with a coughing spell and stepped out upon the porch where he fell dying without a word of warning. Two sisters and one brother are left to mourn his death. The deceased was a retired farmer who moved to this village about a year ago in company with his sister who kept house for him. They have occupied rooms in the Duggan home since coming here but were contemplating purchasing a home in the village.

Translation of the small stone reads.

"OTEC"
"Tedy sladce spí, ó otče drahý! Brzo ztrátili jsme tebe zde.
Tys byl štít a vůdce naši snahy – nikdy nezapomene tě."

"FATHER"
"And so sleep sweetly, dear father. We lost you here too soon.
You were our protector, leader of our efforts – we will never forget you."
