John E. Fox, Jr., Camp Hill, formerly of New Cumberland, died peacefully at his home on Monday, October 24, 2005. He was born on April 1, 1913, in Harrisburg, to the late Judge John E. Fox and Rachel K. (Kunkel) Fox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine C. Fox; two brothers, Charles K. Fox and George B. Fox; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Fox. He is survived by two stepsons and their families, Ross Chrisman and his wife, Debbi and their son, Andrew of Selinsgrove, and Neil Chrisman and his wife, Kim and their two children, Kate and Neil of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are two sisters, Virginia F. Uihlein of Naples, FL, and Eliza F. Gerhardt and her husband, David, of Baltimore, MD; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Richey Fox of Camp Hill, PA. He was a beloved uncle to three nieces Eliza G. Granlund of New Bern, NC, Diane U. Koestner of Naples, FL, and Suzanne F. Ricker of Carlisle, PA; and to three nephews, John F. Gerhardt of Traverse City, MI, Frederick W. Uihlein of Steamboat Springs, CO and Charles A. Fox of Wallingford, PA; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Mr. Fox was Veteran of World War II. He attended Williams College and graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He taught at the Berkshire Prep School in Massachusetts in the early 1940's until he returned to Harrisburg. For the next thirty years he was a devoted English and foreign language teacher at the Milton Hershey School from which he retired in 1973. He was a lifetime member of the Harrisburg Country Club. He also belonged to the West Shore Country Club. Service at the convenience of the family. Burial in Hummelstown Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
