Robert Allen Scott, 101, of Fort Worth died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at a Fort Worth hospital. Service: 1 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Dr. Robert Nichols and Rev. Steve Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Visitation: Noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Scott was born Aug. 12, 1912, to John M. and Daisey Durham Scott in Rosebud. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and retired from General Dymamics (now Lockheed Martin) in 1977 after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM 745 and Cedar Springs Methodist Church near Rosebud. After retirement, Allen and his wife, Reba, moved back to homestead near Rosebud for a number of years before returning again to Fort Worth. During his last few years, he was tremendously blessed by the care given to him by Vitas Hospice caregivers, Sissie Hill, Dorothy Forchu, and many others who helped take care of him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba, to whom he was married for 70 years. Survivors: His daughter, Bess Stumbo and husband, Barney, of Fort Worth; brother, N.O. Scott of Van Alstyne; grandchildren, Susan, Scott and Robin of Fort Worth; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
