Mr. Sherman Lashley, age 88, passed away Friday, March 17, in the Suwannee County Hospital. Mr. Lashley was a resident of Rt 1, Live Oak and a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter; Mrs. Lille Mae Roberts, Live Oak, one son; Mr. Marvin Lashley, Live Oak; one brother; Mr. Perry Lashley, Live Oak. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Lashley were conducted Sunday, March 19, at 3 PM in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Hazel Woodard, and Rev. Ira Blair officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were Leroy Tompkins, William Jenkins, Mr. Christie, Elwood Howard, Jack McCook, and Charles Wood. Honorary pallbearers were Buck Ellison, Michael Murray, Marvin Bray, Mack McCook, Bob English, Charlie Banks, Bomin Taylor, Albert Starling, Duke McCallister, and Daniel Murray. James B. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of arrangements.
