Perry L. Lashley, 91, of Live Oak, died Saturday, March 28, in the Suwannee County Hospital following a long illness. He was a native of Hamilton County, a retired farmer, and a member of Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 60 years. He is survived by three daughters; R.V. Shelfer, Marie Jenkins and Myrtle Ruth Bell, all of Live Oak; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, March 30, at 2 P.M. in the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ira Blair, Rev. C.A. Griffin and Rev. Ken Edenfield officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers serving were Dennis Truluck, Bill Truluck, Lamar Jenkins, Joe Sullivan, Larry McClamma and Ricky Lyons. Honorary pallbearers were Austin Connell, Houston Bagwell, Alfred Hughes, Charlie Banks, Dave Neely, Carter Wilson, Howard Christie, Gary Watson, Cleatos McCook, Edgar Wynne, Jerry Rickard, Jim Downing, Billy Roberts, Everett Williamson, Jim Yeary and Donald Sapp. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements.
