Maria Doerbecker was a daughter of Johann Georg "George" Doerbecker (1789-1862) and his first wife, Anna Martha Vetter (born about 1790; died before 1840). She was married to John Forler (1829-1866), and after his death, to John F. Wagner (born about 1831; died before 1901).Philipsburg News Item
It is this week our sad duty to chronicle the death of Mary Forler (nee Doerrbecker) she died on Thursday, Sept. 30th at 8 p.m. and reached the ripe age of 84 years, 2 months and 28 days. Deceased was born in Hesson, Germany, and came to Canada when a young girl of 14 years and has lived in Wilmot Township ever since with the exception of a few years when she lived in Wellesley. Deceased was well respected and beloved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss, one son and two daughters, also 22 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren. The mourning son and two daughters are namely; George Forler of Wilmot, Mary (Mrs. Kress) of Waterloo and Mrs. Margaret Pfanner of this place with whom the deceased lived until her end. May she rest in peace.
