George Doerbecker was first married to Anna Martha Vetter (b. ~1790). Known children from this marriage were:

- Johann Valentine "Valentine (1821-1908)
- Anna Maria "Mary" (1831-1915)
After the death of his first wife (sometime between 1831 and 1840), George married Katharina "Catherine" Schneider (1813-1905). Their known children were:
- Elizabeth (1841-1933)
- Juliana (1849-1935)
Of George's known children, Juliana was the only one to be born in Canada, indicating that the Doerbecker family emigrated from Germany sometime in the 1840s. They settled in Woolwich Township on a farm just north of Erbsville, Ontario (Lot 62, German Company Tract).
George's death was announced in the Berliner Journal Newspaper on April 17, 1862:

Gravesite Details
The gravestone is in poor condition--only the top part remains. The stone has been removed from the gravesite and is set in a concrete pad along with other older stones from the cemetery.
