Mr. Chabbott died Friday, February 9, 1951, at Placid Memorial hospital in Lake Placid, New York, and had been transferred the day previously from Lake Placid General hospital where he had been a patient for six weeks. He had lived there with his daughter, Mrs. Hector Strack, for five years.
Born in Black Brook, New York, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Chabbott of Jay, New York. He was survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Gilman, Mrs. Hector Strack of Lake Placid and Mrs. Delmar Berghorn of Akron, New York, a son, Francis Chabbott, of Lake Placid, also 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His wife, the former Miss Sadie Shipman, died in 1937.
Survivors also included three sisters, Mrs. Alma Fitzsimmons of Au Sable Forks, New York, Mrs. Charles Bombard, Burlington, Vermont, and Mrs. Everett Lowman of Albany, New York; and a brother, Edward Chabbott, of Jay.
