Richard HARDISTY was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, November 28, 1826, and died at his home in Greene County, Indiana, June 9, 1902. His disease was consumption, from which he had suffered more than three years. At the age of twenty-seven he was married to Sarah IMHOFF and to them were born twelve children—six boys and six girls-eight of whom, with their mother, survive him. He remarked many times during his sickness that all the medicine could not cure him; that he had lived his time and was ready to die, and that if he knew he could only go to sleep and never awaken he would be pleased. The home that was once so pleasant and cheerful is left in sorrow. There is a link gone out of the family chain, which can never be re-united here, on earth. But we have a promise of living in a world far better than this. He died in the full realization of a reward promised for the faithful. His remains were followed to their last resting place in the Mood Cemetery by a vast concourse of his neighbors and friends, who the paid their last tribute of respect. The funeral services were held in the Grove church by Rev. Harry HOLDON and Rev. Jacob NEAL.
