US Congressman. Elected as a Republican to represent New York's 21st District in the Forty-fifth Congress, he served from 1877 to 1879. He did not seek a second term. Bundy was born in Oxford, New York, and apart from his two years on Capitol Hill spent his whole life there. After graduating from Oxford Academy he taught school and worked as a merchant while independently studying law; he was admitted to the bar in 1859 and began practice in his hometown. He was the District Attorney for Chenango County from 1862 to 1865 and at various times a justice of the peace and a clerk for the county's Board of Supervisors.
