Thomas Whatman was the 8th child born to Henry Whatman and Mary/Marianne Miller. He was born Jan. 31, 1864 in Brede, Sussex, England. He left Liverpool, England on the S.S. Abyssinia on Oct. 22, 1882 with his sister, Mary Ann Whatman and arrived in Utah. He made Kaysville, Utah his home and died there on Apr. 25, 1916.
