Below is excerpts from the history Annie wrote. Pa is her Pa. Thom is Lizzie's father. Spelling and sentence structure is Annie's. She wrote this in about 1900.

""" Pa come and reddy to build us a house I had a time coxing Thom to let 2 cows go to buy lumber at last I said if you don't I will so he made the bargn for about 5 thousand feet of lumber and it was away in the winter befour pa could start and only help he had was what Thom would do we had moved to Mrs. Wixcoms old place across from Father Days old place I kept taken in washing and baught 2 tubs and wash bords so Elizie could help me wash she was such a girl to wash and she done nearly all my ironing and do it rite severel monings I got up and found her in the kitchen coocking breakfist with the lamp lit."""
On newyears day I thought I would not speak so Thom sat by the fire place I was working and when the fire went out I would go and get chips and make a big fire he would sat back and as the fire would go down he would come closer up all day till sundown with out speaking I tuck it to heart them days worse than now and on Sunday morning Eliza awoke crying my throat is sore I tried to talk to her till there was a fire than we got up I looked in her throat and found her throat works than aney I had ever seen I done what I thought was best all day and next I sent for Mrs. Davis she said it was only quiszy {quinsy} but I looked at Doc gunn works and [he] pronuced it Diptheria. I still had 2 sacks of clothes to wash for Mrs. Parker but I could not do them and had to send them home me saying she had that dreded desze {disease} no one would come to help I and pa had to tend her night and day till the night beour she dies Mrs Sarah E Beebe come and began to doctor ceorge she could see it was to late to do my girl aney good I was so very thankful she was there for Elizabeth died Saturday after noon January 28, 1892 and I thought I never could lay one of my children away and had always tried to keep the work of wisdam so I would not half to and it was a hard thing to stand. Sister Ritchy and Ala Webb now Clark made her dress and trimed it so nice I could never forget but I thought it looked to long as Mrs. Beebe lay it out on the cradle by me I cryed out it is to long for her but a voice said to me never mind Annie you can put a tuck in it when you go I was alone in the room when I had such a concoling feeling with my baby in my arms well we was notified to burrie our girl rite a way my pa made the coffin as soon as he could and Sunday after noon they got her ready I never thought I could go to the greave {grave] yard with a child of mine but as they tuck her out the same voice said you must go to the grave yard so I go up put on my wraps and went out left Mrs Beebe to tend all my children and as we went by petersons field the same voice said you must have that grave dedecated I said Thom you must dedecat the grave he said I cant I said you must for pa never did such a thing and I am a fraid to ask him. Thom stud a minit after the coffin wsa put in pa said hurry or that woman will freeze it was a very cold day but I said no that grave must be dedecated and looked at Thom he said a few words and went to work my pa Thom and me was all that I could see there but I felt like there was more. We all had bad sore throat but in a week we moved to our new house it was not finished but it was our own in Febuarary I had a bad spell of quinsy I thought I would die and Thom would be sick ever little while with ruhmatics ...."""""

The house they moved into that was not finished was in town, Circleville. Annie wanted to move from the Day Ranch to town so she could take in "washing" and "watering" and clean homes to bring in more money or supplies for survival.
What she calls watering is going to the ditch every night or day and turning water into different fields. Growing up she said she did not mind being out all night with watering. With children that became more difficult. Earlier she states George and Melvina did her watering 2 or 3 times a week.
