Lodi News—Sentinel, CA, Aug. 22, 1949 —

John Mauch, 76, who had resided at 317 E. Elm Street, passed away early Saturday morning in a local hospital following a brief siege of illness.

A native of South Russia, Mauch had resided in Lodi for the past 14 years. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frieda Mauch, and three children, Mrs. Siona Engel of Goodrich, North Dakota, John Mauch of Lodi, and Mrs. Mary Becker of Buena, Washington. He also leaves two brothers, Fred Mauch of Goodrich, and Carl Mauch of Greeley, Colorado, besides six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the First Baptist Church, where the Rev. Fred Worlitz and the Rev. H.H. Epp will be the officiating ministers. Interment will follow in Lodi Cemetery. The Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John MAUCH Jr. born 15 August 1873 in Worms, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Johann Karl MAUCH and Anna Marie BERRETH.

John MAUCH Jr. at the age of 19 immigrated to North America via the Port of Antwerp, Belgium occupying steerage passage aboard the SS "Waesland" and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the 15 June 1893.

John MAUCH Jr. married Barbara FELCHLE on the 17th of May 1895 in Wells County, North Dakota. This union was blessed with 3 children; Siona, John J and Marie Anita. Barbara died on the 8th of July 1930 in Goodrich, North Dakota.

John Jr. married Friedericka "Frieda" (Enzi) KURLE on the 23rd of November 1930 in Eureka, McPherson County, South Dakota.
