Allen K. Smail, 76, of Kittanning RD6 died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh of an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 4, 1923 in Plumcreek Township to Alpha K. and Joycie (Blystone) Smail.
Mr. Smail was retired from the former Schenley Distillery, having 45 years of service.
He was a member of Whitesburg Prebyterian Church.
He served as a dog trainer and military policeman in the U.S. Air Force 9th division with Company C 631st Tank Destroyer during World War II. he served in France, Rhineland, England and Central Europe.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Yount) Smail, whom he married on Nov. 14, 1945; one son. Larry A. Smail of Kittanning; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas P. (Ruthie) Shankle of Worthington; and one brother,Floyd D. Smail of Kittannning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Glenna Mae; two brothers, Russell and Carl Smail; and one sister, Cleo Wright.
SMAIL - Friends of Allen K. Smail, 76, of Kittanning RD6, who died June 20, 1999, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, Inc., A Forethought Member, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jay Tennies, officiating. Interment will take place in teh Whitesburg Methodist Cemetery, Kittanning RD1. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
