Lady Ruth Veach

Atlanta, GA resident (former long-time resident of McMinnville) and Tuscumbia, AL native Lady Ruth Veach, age 86, was born January 5, 1927 and died November 30, 2013 at Ashton Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta, GA following a lingering illness.
A homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Admiral Dewey and Willie Connie Sanders Slatton. She was married to Juel Edward Veach, Sr. who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Leigh Johnson and two brothers, Lester Grey Slatton and Jack Love Slatton.
Mrs. Veach is survived by a son, Juel Edward Veach, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Kim Leigh Smith of Lake Tahoe, CA and Nikki Johnson of Athens, GA; two great-grandchildren, Sofia DiGeronimo and Ryan DiGeronimo; sister, Patsy Darlene Austin of Rock Island, TN and three brothers, Jim Slatton and Billy Joe Slatton both of McMinnville and Fletcher Slatton of Nashville, TN.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Webb Cemetery @ Bluff Springs with Ben Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Thursday at High's.
