Vernon, Nov. 27.—The death of Mrs. Harry Vaughn who passed away this morning about 3 o'clock at the Broad Street Hospital in Oneida came as a great shock to her many friends. Mrs. Vaughn had not been ill for any length
of time but failed to rally from an operation.
Nina Gerwig Vaughn was born In New London December 23, 1882, the daughter of George and Belle Gerwig. She was married in 1904 to Harry Vaughn. For several years they acted as superintendent and matron at the Rochester Industrial School but for the past nine years had resided at their home on Tilden Hill. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Verona Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Winona Chapter. No. 249, O. E. S. and of V. and V. Corners Home Bureau. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Those surviving besides her husband and three children, Herman, aged 15, Hazel. 9, and Betty, 6; are her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George Gerwig; two brothers, Roy and Will Gerwig, all of New London; three sisters, Mrs. Elliott Yager of Hlgglnsvllle, Mrs. Ruby Shadduck of New York City and Miss Helen Gerwig of New London.

FUNERAL SERVICES AT VERONA
Last Rites For Mrs. Harry Vaughn-
Verona, Dec. 1. — Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Vaughn were largely attended Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church, Rev. W. A. Wager officiating. He was assisted by Rev. C. M. Burger of Sherrill.
There was a profusion of beautiful flowers showing the esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was made in the Verona cemetery. Those who attended from out of
town were Messrs; James Blauvelt, Jesse James, Calvin Hayes and George Wilkinson, supervisors of the State, Industrial School at Rochester, where Mrs. Vaughn was matron for several years; a sister, Mrs. J. Shattuck of
New York city, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Butler of Quincy, III.
