Win or Wynn, was the 6th of seven children born to Nelis De Reus and his 3rd wife, Francoise Van Hoeve who were both Dutch immigrants, though they came to America and to Pella at different times.

Her siblings: Marie, Arie N., Barbara, Peter N., Frances and Elizabeth Jane. She had three older half-sisters: Maggie, Theresa Julia and Nellie.

On 3 Jun 1921, Wilhelmina married John J. Van Dyke. They did not have children.

Winnie worked as a seamstress.

Her death certificiate notes "exsanguination" which is bleeding to death with cervical cancer as a secondary cause.
