Robinson was born in Texas and first came to Oklahoma City in 1914. In 1947 he moved to New York where he worked as a photographer and a model. Robinson later moved to Washington, D.C., where he was employed by the federal government as a painter. He retired in 1972 and returned to Oklahoma City. Robinson was a member of the East Sixth Street Christian Church and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie; two daughters Fern New York, and Lori Washington D.C.; his mother, Mrs. Aline Robinson, of the home; four sisters, Mrs Era Holmes, Mrs. Zelma Love and Mrs. Arletha Baker, all of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Marjorie Smith San Francisco; and a brother, Garland Oklahoma City.
