Born in New Oxford, Adams County, he was a
son of the late Francis and Ida Hockensmith Funk.
A retired laborer, he belonged to the Presen-
tation Blessed Virgin mary Catholic Church in Marietta.
Surviving are three sons: Robert Funk of
Columbia R1; Richard Funk of Marietta, and Raymond Funk of Winter Haven, Fla; six daughters: Elizabeth, wife of Emerald Loroff of Castalia, Ohio; Dorothy, wife of Robert Hall-
oway of Enid, Okla.; Lillian, wife as Mervin Gutshall of Marietta R1; Marian, wife sf John Ulmer Jr., of Lancaster; Mary, wife of Walter Beaston of Marietta; Sarah Maria, wife of Gus DeGeorge of Lancaster;27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Raymond Funk and Lee Funk, both of New Oxford R1;
and two sisters: Theresa, wife of Louis Buckle of York and Anna, wife of Paul Plitt of California.
