Olive George, 90, of Walker, MN died Friday, February 14, 1997 at the Woodrest Nursing Home in Walker. Olive was born July 3, 1906, Royal, IA, the daughter of S.C. and Bertha Anderson.

She grew up and attended school in Royal. After high school she attended Drake University in Des Moines, IA, majoring in art. After her schooling she married
Robert E. George and they made their home in Laurens, Emmetsburg, LeMars and Ogden, IA where they owned and operated a drug store. In 1945 they moved to Walker where they managed Doc's Lodge before owning and operating the Whittle Shop until she retired in 1971. She was an avid artist enjoying carving and watercolor painting.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and one brother and sister-in-law Olin and Josie Anderson.

Funeral services were held February 20 at the Walker Community Church with Pastor Enno Limvere and Rev. Michael Small officiating. Mrs. Florence Garvin was organist and accompanied Mr. Craig Dennis, soloist.

Casket bearers were David Blackburn, Rick Anderson, Jon Anderson, Greg Brown, Bob King and Tony Doughty
