Mrs. Hess was born July 17, 1919, in York County. She was the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Jennie A. (Holtzapple) Dull.
Mrs. Hess was a weaver at York Narrow Fabrics and retired from Penn Textile after 25 years of employment. Mrs. Hess is survived by one daughter, Nancy A. Stine of Dover; three sons, Guy W. Hess, Jr., of Hamilton, Mont., Barry A. Hess of Spring Grove, and Robert E. Hess of York; 19 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lena M. Brillhart of York, Ruth N. Bluck of Brea, Calif., and Sharon R. Sterner of Spring Grove; and one brother, Richard A. Dull of York. She was preceded in death by three children, Vonnie M., Bernell E., and Larry R. Hess.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of your choice. Workinger-Semmel F.H. and Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, is in charge.
