NOTE:In The Hillsboro Gazette, dated October 20, 1904 is the death notice of Ciscelia Huff. The inscription on her monument reads that she died in 1907. The 1907 has to have been a mistake because the news paper would not have printed the obit in 1904 unless that was the year she had died. ???

Obituary

Ciscelia Lewis Huff was born June 15, 1817, died September 10, 1904, aged 87 years, 3 months and 4 days. She was the daughter of Lewis and Abigail Lewis and came to Ohio from Pennsylvania when three years of age. She was the last of a family of twelve children. She was a member of the Quaker Church, but after her marriage to Orestus Huff they both united with the M. E. Church,
remaining members until death. To this union was born seven children, five sons and two daugeters. Her husband and one son having preceded her to the better land. Her funeral was preached by Rev.
Smith, of Belfast; Ohio, her home two miles west of Folsom. Many times in life she gave testimony for Jesus. The last two days of her life were days of suffering and she was unable to speak for twenty-four hours before her death, but raised her hand and pointed upward to give one more
assurance of heavenly home. All that loving hands could do to alleviate her suffering was done, but the Savior said, "come," and we bow in
submission to his will for He doeth all things
well. She was a kind and affectionate mother and neighbor and has gone to join a host of relatives on the other shore. Still we bend above the tomb
and call her dead, but O, we know she dwells where living waters flow ! The interment was conducted by undertakers, Ruble & Stockwell, of
Hlllsboro, who left nothing undone to make the family and every one present comfortable. The remains were laid to rest in the Lewis cemetery to
await the resurrection morn.

Leaves have their time to fall
And be gathered at the north wind's breath
But thou has all,
All seasons for thine own, Oh Death.
