Elizabeth McCloud Corbin, 80, died February 7, 1999, in the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Outlook Pointe, formerly of 110 Holly Hill Drive, Bridgewater.
She was born on March 31, 1918, to the late Jacob Clark and Ella Tallman McCloud, near Durbin, WV in Pocahontas County.
She was married to Phillip A. Corbin in Marlinton, WV on June 26, 1936, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1995, after nearly 60 years of marriage.
She had lived in the Bridgewater area since 1940. She is survived by one daughter, Wanda C. Liskey and son-in-law, Richard W. Liskey of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Yolanda L. Showers and grandson-in-law, Phil Showers. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Millicent, Virginia, Tiffany, and Phillip Showers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Montezuma Church of the Brethren, served on the church board, was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Evelyn Myers Bible Class, Fireman's Auxiliary, where she served as Chaplain for several years until resigning due to health reasons.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m. in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the Montezuma Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jim Beckwith officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Montezuma Church of the Brethren.
