Mary Florence Koudelka died March 30, 2010, at her home. She had been a resident of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community since June 2000.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Thomas Koudelka, and a grandson, James Joseph Rogers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Noel Rogers of Jacksonville, N.C.; two grandsons and their wives, Bruce and Kelly Rogers of Emerald Isle, N.C., and Peter and Charity Rogers of Nampula, Mozambique; and one granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and John Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.

She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Eason White and Renata Rogers; four great-grandsons, Harris Rogers, Noah Rogers, Asher Rogers and Evan Taylor; two sisters, Arlene Rowles of Pickerington, Ohio, and Martha Ulrich of Marshall, Mich.; one brother, Wayne Davey of Greenville, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Betty Davey of Thornton, Colo., and Elizabeth Campbell of Wauwatosa, Wis.; seven nieces and a nephew, and her wonderful caregivers, Kathleen Yankey and Jane Garber.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 13, at 10 a.m.

The family will greet friends at the church following the service. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Her casket will be closed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund, RMH Hospice, or VMRC Compassion Fund.
