George Allen Hicks Sr., retired from Cummings Florist after 30 years and he was a Navy Veteran of WW II, Petty Officer 3rd Class, served in the South Pacific in the battle Saipan in the Mariana Islands. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the VFW. He played basketball for West Louisville High School, was a Golden Glove boxer in the Navy and umpired little league baseball and softball.
