Mr. Ryan Lee Collier, 31, died Sunday, March 29, 2009. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Ryan, a native of Pitt County, was a longtime resident of Greenville. A 1995 graduate of D. H. Conley High School, he attended Pitt Community College where he studied to be a computer generalist. Ryan's hobbies included creating virtual characters in Dungeons and Dragons, reading comic books, science fiction, and animee. He was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margie Davis and Clarence Collier.
He is survived by his mother, Gene Mills; father and stepmother, Randy and Sue Collier; maternal grandfather, Billy Davis and special friend, Betty Harris, all of Greenville; paternal grandmother, Ruth Collier Joyner and husband, Oliver, of Rocky Mount; uncle and aunt, Dwight and Ellen Collier, of Snellville, Ga.; cousins, Dwight Collier Jr. and Robert Collier; and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pitt Community College Foundation, PO Box 7007, Greenville, NC 27835 to establish a scholarship for special needs students in memory of Ryan Lee Collier.
