Bessie Mae Bumbalough, 98, of Smyrna, formerly of Sparta, passed from this life Oct. 26, 2013, at Christian Care of Rutherford County.
Mrs. Bumbalough was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Putnam County, a daughter of the Seth and Biddie Daniels Bumbalough.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and worked many years as a nurse in the Sparta/Cookeville area.
Mrs. Bumbalough was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Clouse; three sons, Arnel "Bud" Walker, James Keith Walker, Clayton Jones, Jr.; and her husband, Dallas Bumbalough.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Oct. 30, 2013, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Big springs Cemetery. Bobby Wilhite will officiate.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
