Washington Seckel was the son of John Cooper Seckel and Mary Ann [Meer] Seckel.

He married Sophia Corwin, daughter of Stephen Corwin and Margaret [Crawford] Corwin, 17/Sep/1868 in Marion, Marion Co, Ohio.

They were the parents of eight children:

Infant daughter 16/Jan/1868 - 18/Jan/1868

Emery Elsworth Seckel

James Oscar Seckel

Myrtle A Seckel Highley

Margaret Seckel Brown

Santford Seckel

Joseph Meer Seckel

Orpha Viola Seckel Showers

Original resting place of Washington Seckel.

Markers moved to Caledonia. Foundation remains. Large family headstone in the 1942 image at Likens. Stone still in place in 1947, and in 1951, so it would have to be moved after 1951.

Caledonia Cemetery has no record of reinternment or date when the stone was installed at its location.

There is no evidence to say that body/remains were reinterred. See Memorial 119422861.

This memorial was discussed with a representative of Find A Grave at FGS in August, 2019. Because no validation has been found to state that the remains were moved, that this memorial is logical as the remains could still be here.
