Daniel H. Elliott, 55, of Euclid Ave., Jamestown, passed away Saturday, Aug.16, 2008, in the emergency room of WCA Hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1953 in Jamestown, the son of the late Orval John Elliott Jr. and Betty Irene Kaltenbach Elliott. Dan was a 1971 graduate of Randolph Central School, where he stared on the varsity basketball team and had also lettered in volleyball and track. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, Dan served from Dec.16, 1974 to Sept. 13, 1978. He had been employed by Bush Industries in Jamestown and had worked earlier for Combined Life Insurance of New York and Falconer Glass. He is survived by two sons: Travis J. Elliott of Jamestown and Matthew J. Elliott of Cattaraugus; a daughter, Danni J. Elliott of Cattaraugus; two brothers: Orval John Elliott III of Jamestown and David L. Elliott of Randolph; three nephews: Mark, Rick and Luke Elliott. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Jake Elliott in 2003. Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, conducted by members of the Randolph American Legion Post 181.
