GRACE — Naomi Adams Parkhouse, 87, of Grace, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Portneuf Care Center in Pocatello. She was born Nov. 24, 1918, at Central, Idaho, the daughter of Henry and Karren Hansen Bjorkman.
Naomi married Alma James Adams Jan. 1, 1940, at Pocatello Their marriage was later sealed on Jan. 24, 1955, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Adams passed away May 11, 1970.
Naomi married James V. Parkhouse Jr. Oct. 22, 1975, in Grace, Idaho.
Naomi was raised in the Central and Grace areas. She attended school in Central and graduated from Grace High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Naomi held various positions over the years.
She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Naomi is survived by her husband, James Parkhouse Jr. of Grace; three stepsons, two daughters and one stepdaughter and their spouses, James V. Parkhouse III, Boise; Richard Parkhouse, Soda Springs; David (Mary) Parkhouse, Soda Springs; Alease (Evan) Hayes, American Falls; Karen (Gregory) Panter, Boise; and Patricia (Rodney) Wood, Soda Springs. Surviving also are 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Norm (Gerry) Bjorkman, Soda Springs; and Jesse (Vi) Bjorkman, Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alma; her parents, three brothers and four sisters, Arnold, Albert, Leonard, Lorena Bjorkman, Eleda Smith, Flora Fowler and Frances Pond.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 4, at the Grace LDS Stake Center at 1 p.m., with Bishop Crae Williams officiating.
Friends may call on Monday evening at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs from 7 to 8 p.m and on Tuesday at the Grace Stake Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
