She was born March 7, 1914, to John and Viola (Donaldson) Elmlinger in rural Cameron, where she was raised and attended school.
She married Cecil Williams on Jan. 6, 1934. They lived in Barron for several years before moving to a farm west of Cameron, where Cecil was an auctioneer and they held consignment sales. They later moved to the Rice Lake area and spent their remaining years there.
They enjoyed traveling and visiting their cabins in Gordon and Geraldton, Ontario, Canada. Margaret will be remembered for her easygoing personality and love of singing. She will be sadly missed by her family and many grandchildren, whom she helped raise.
Surviving are a son, John H. Williams of Rice Lake; daughters, Maxine Voelker of Rice Lake, Jackie (Bernard) Krakau of Janesville, Sharon (Lee) Wescott and Betty (Jack) Kodesh, both of Rice Lake; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Olive) Elmlinger of Eau Claire; a sister, Katherine Grotage of Vancouver, Wash.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 18, 1987; brothers, Ben and Jack Elmlinger; and sisters, Dora Barron and Frances Combs.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, from Mark Rausch Funeral Home, Cameron, Rev. Sam Kochel officiating, with interment at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.
