Frances E. Combs, 89, died Aug. 13, 2001.
She was born April 10, 1912, at Cameron, Wis., the second of John and Viola Elmlingers' seven children.
She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, and sewing. She made many beautiful quilts and hand-made braided rugs.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Lee of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Katherine Groutage of Vancouver and Margaret Williams of Rice Lake; brothers, Jack Elmlinger of Long Beach, Wash., and Charles Elmlinger of Eau Claire; and two goddaughters, who she adored, Kristin Johnson of Vancouver and Karen Dryden of Edmonds, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Ben, and youngest sister, Dora.
At her request, there will be no funeral services.
